The Economic Policy, Planning and Statistics Office is established to act as an advisory body to the government of the day on matters of the economy of the Marshall Islands, and has the responsibility for the development of sound economic policies and strategic planning, based amongst other factors, the analysis of statistical data representing the various subject matters in the area of government operations and of the communities in the Republic, as set out under Schedule 1 of the Statistics Act 1986, (10 MIRC Chapter 10).
